Louis Vuitton Crucifix Sculpture
Contemporary artist R. Lloyd Ming has recently sold his Louis Vuitton Crucifix to an unnamed British collector. Inspired by the new wealth in China, the artist also claims that it can also "refer to America or any consumer-driven society." Made out of 5 Almas that were split in two, this seemingly expensive sculpture at the expense of LV is meant to shock its audience. {Verbatim from yahoo news:} Lloyd Ming's current solo art show is called 'I Am Not Chinese'. The focus of the exhibit is China and what Ming calls the tenuous relationship between China and America. His art works address many controversial Chinese issues including censorship and capitalism under communist rule, trade imbalance, human rights, pollution, Tibet-China conflict, America borrowing money from China, potential US-China war and the deliberate devaluation of the Chinese Yuan. The show runs from March 3, 2009 to May 3, 2009 at Studio C. - 55 West 74th Street - New York NY, 10023. The show is by appointment; Telephone: (212)362.3093. Visit the artist's website here.

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2009-2010
Style.com has released their Accesory Report for Fall Winter 2009-2010 and guess what?! Vuitton pieces abound. LVoe it!!! Big thanks to CrazyForLV. Paillettes Alma ~ I'm really LVoeing this bag-in-a-bag thing that is going on. Add the fact that this latest interpretation of the monogram is to die for. The rivets and chain reminds me of two other Fashion House icons (GG & CC), though.
Biseta Bag ~ Just LVooking at the pic, one can appreciate the craftmanship that went into this bag. I believe that this was the highlight of Marc's Louis Vuitton Show. Truly Bag Couture!
Gosh, these necklaces remind me of my elementary school art projects, but definitely with much more style.
Those are LOOOONNGGG boots!

Damier Keepall 45 out by May
Another reason to post this cutee patootee's pic.
An Anonymous poster just announced that the Damier, Damier Azur & Damier Graphite Keepall 45's are slated to be released sometime in May. This is good news for Damier LVoers who think that the 50 is too big for a weekend getaway. I just confirmed with 1-866 and that the price would be $1250 for all three versions. It seems that for now, a bandouliere or strap would be the standard but it was not made clear to me if they are releasing just a regular Keepall. A Naxos leather version will also become available. Colors would be Taupe, Bleu Marine and White (see swatch pic below) but will be more pricey (of course) at $3550. Call your favourite SA's to be jotted down on the waitlist for these Spring Summer 2009 releases. LVoe it!!!
I wish they really made this...the Manila Neverfull

First LVook: Joey Wallet
Good news for Epi LVoers, a new wallet is being released this season called the Joey. Crafted from the famous embossed leather of the House of Vuitton, the Joey, boasts a press lock closure inspired by the Montaigne Collection. It can hold up to 6 credit cards and has one of those flap pockets to keep important papers. Measuring 4.9" x 4" x 1.6" with three colorways, Cassis, Ivory and Black, it is available for $680 from www.louisvuitton.com.
Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2009
Since Spring is well under way into Summer, it's now time for us to look ahead for the Pre-Fall Collection. Inspired by the 1940's, Marc Jacobs has created for us softer silhouttes and subdued colors that will match the mood of the season. See previous post. For now, I want to focus on the large city bag that was featured. Crafted from suede and patent leather that is embossed with the monogram flowers, it comes in fawn and dark brown; plus the Monogram Canvas version with gold metallic calfskin trim. I think it's a perfect drawstring bag. The square strap holder detail is a nice touch and I LVoe that it is footed. Dare I hope that this would have an affordable price tag. The size seems ample enough to lug the daily essentials but I am not too wild about the tassels though I know that it could grow on me in time. I am assuming that the release of this bag would be sometime in late summer. All in all, LVoe it!!!

Thursday LVook-See: African Queen, Slightly and Neo Pont-Neuf
Seeing those pictures of the latest Louis Vuitton feature: A Woman's Journey, I was inspired today to go to the boutique to see for myself the new releases. Jerome and I were greeted at the door by the African Queen in Cuivre. I noticed immediately that the leather was already creased on one side but it still did not detract from the beauty of this evening clutch. I guess it's the nature of the material. The Leopard Nocturne print on the lambskin was amazing and almost ethereal but with the $2580 price tag, it very well should be. Next up were the new colors for the denim line: Rose and Gris. They were tuck away so high up in a shelf that I only had a ground level view. They were okay. My SA was busy with customers so I didn't want to bother him. A little flat as opposed to the original blue. I didn't get to play with the Slightly because I was distracted by what I really came there to see: the Neo Pont-Neuf. The GM is absolutely stunning! Made out of Epi leather, structure is not lacking in this city bag. The purse opens up to reveal two side slats that could easily hold papers and what not. In the middle is a zippered compartment that could hold your daily essentials. It comes in ivory and black with the PM having a Cassis. (Priced at $2080 GM and $1610 PM). What I didn't like about it was that it was hand held again. I am still on the look out for the perfect shoulder LV bag. Here's a pic of our visit with the newly released Epi Astrid Wallet ($845) in the glass case. PS. Jerome surprised me with his latest acquisition and you can see a sliver of it at the edge of the pic. LVoe it!!!
A Woman's Journey
Visit www.louisvuitton.com. The photos & the three soundtracks: "A City Stroll"; "Off the Beaten Tracks" & "Excpetional Moment" are amazing. But I have to disagree that ONLY women can have this journey. I am living in mine. LVoe it!!!
