LOUIS VUITTON Tournon

Tournon-sur-Rhône is a picturesque village in the Ardèche department in southern France. Known for its dominating castle and botanical garden, the quaintness of the town is where LV got the name for this bag. It reminds me very much of the Artsy. Luxurious finishing touches such as leather knots and the uniquely Capucines leather-wrapped closure sets it  apart from its predecessor. Priced at $5750 for the python embellished and $4550 for the all leather version.

LOUIS VUITTON 2016 Bags

Of all the bags that I have seen for Spring Summer 2016, this little number has caught my attention. It reminds me of building blocks that I played with when I was a child. Definitely a collector's piece so I will have to check it out if it does go into production.

LOUIS VUITTON City Steamer Collection

 Classic? Of course! Beautiful? Absolutely! Functional? Most definitely! Ground-breaking? Uhhhhh...hmmmm. The City Steamer that is new for Cruise 2016 fits all the criteria that women (and men) want in their bags. The timeless design and practicality of the tote will surely make it a popular sell. But I miss the days of  the cool, collector pieces that MJ was known for. LOUIS VUITTON Holiday Window 2015

I have always appreciated holiday windows and Louis Vuitton did not disappoint me this year. Enclosed in a mirror like bubble are its current offerings for the season. In this case, I believe they have a Lockme II BB in Dune. Man, I have been so out of touched with LV that I need to do my due diligence.

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2014 2015 Ad Campaign

Three iconic photographers lent their magic to Louis Vuitton's Fall Winter Ad campaign this year. Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, and Juergen Teller were chosen to portray the LV woman through the eyes of Nicolas Ghesquière.  Entitled "Series 1", the ads were shot in Miami, New York & Venice and features Charlotte Gainsbourg (NG's muse), Liya Kedebe, Freja Beha Erichsen (who opened this year's show), and Jean Campbell.  Check out the video after the photos.

Ahhh….the classic Monogram Canvas…still LV's main seller is interpreted here with long vache straps that runs across its body. Adjustable to suit any frame, this $1810 bag measures 17.3 x 10.2 x 5.9" so it's quite large for toting the essentials. Crafted of pliable canvas, it will surely be a hit for those LVooking for function and style.

Louis Vuitton Marly

I have been so out of the "Louis Vuitton scene" for many months, that when I read about the much tooted Marly, the first thing I thought was a reincarnation of the discontinued bandouliere version. Much to my surprise, a city tote that boasts of a day to evening LVook came up in my searches. I guess this is LV's version of its Fendi cousin, the 2jours. 

Crafted out of Epi leather, it comes in MM and BB sizes, the latter of which are more suited to the fun colours that it comes in. Priced at $2810 and $2350, respectively, it's not bad, but in my day those were the prices for limited edition runway bags. Gosh, I am so old even in Louis years.
