I got a call today...

...about my Speedy Cube that was waiting for me at the boutique. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed at all when I saw it. It was in every essence a "cube". It was bulky and hard looking. Plus the leather was a calfskin that is somewhat akin to the Nomade but not as buttery. Scratches are definitely bound to happen and creasing could prove to be a problem. The only pro that I saw was the cool way the straps are attached to the bag. They seem to be magnetic locking systems that snap into place. All in all, I was disenchanted and went home empty handed. That rarely happens to me in LV. Maybe it's the gloomy weather that we have been experiencing all day. I still have 15 hours to give my final answer though...so...we'll see.

  3. It may well be one of those bags that would be nice to have for the "iconic" value...but it might not be the most pleasurable bag to carry?!? This is what I usually do when I face dilemmas like this -- "What will I regret more?" In this case, will you regret not getting this bag more than if you get it and realize it is not all you hope it would be?

  4. Ah...Anonymous, if you are going to leave a comment with a hidden barb, try to make sure your grammar is correct. Now for more intelligent conversation, as for Bling*Queen, I have thought about the collector factor but I'm not one to buy just for the sake of collecting and not be able to use it. As it is, I have several handhelds and I feel that one more would be quite tiresome. Add to the fact that I saw something else that struck my fancy. Hehehehe! Thanks for visiting!

  5. Greetings! I had a quick look at the speedy cube on Fri and instantly fell in LVOE with it! Simply because it comes with a strap that got magnetic locking systems (guess I didn't scrutinise the bag properly that 10 mins that I had on hand ... heehee). I can't decide which size to get! I got to admit I like the small one better but since the price difference is not much, I thought the big one is the choice to go (economies of scale? *shrugs*). I'm in a dilemma - Help! So, what is the 'something else' that you fancy? ;)

  6. Better decide fast because they are selling like hotcakes. I didn't see the Mini Cube so I can't compare the two. This is a choice that you have to make depending on your taste and needs. You can't go wrong with either because you LVoed it!!! GoodLVck and update me with pics!

  8. Hi, I'm reading your blog in Moscow, Russia. Last week I held this bag in Moscow LV shop and was also NOT impressed! I'm a huge fan of speedy bags, but this item is really ugly, though it's big.

  9. I am a huge LV collector and fan. I just loved this bag. The speedy is iconic and the bag is beautiful. I think this is a less trendy LV then most runway pieces and highly recommend it.
