Knowing full well that he hates Louis Vuitton with a passion, I still risked it and as it turns out he really LVoes the LV Cup Sunglasses I got him. Embroidery Anyone? Louis Vuitton Monogram Bijou Pochette

Hand encrusted with crystals and beads by the famous La Maison Lesage of Paris, the Spring Summer 2009 Monogram Denim Bijou is an 8 inch pochette that is priced like a small car. Extremely limited and is trimmed and lined in luxurious lambskin and python, the handle alone speaks volumes to the amount of work that went into this bag. Truly an haute couture piece at its finest. Achilles and His Trunks

I was being nosy last Monday as Susanne and I were waiting for her flight back to Vegas. In her dig cam, I found this pic of Achilles, her Miniature Pincher, which she never bothered to send me for my blog. After months of being buried in her SD card, this fabulous pooch's pic has resurrected and what a fabulous photo it is indeed. Thanks for sending it in, Anak. See you in LVegas soon! LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Antique Catalogue

Up for auction on ebay is this fantastic specimen from the late 1800's. It could very well be the first catalogue issued by Louis Vuitton as the seller claims. I must admit that I have not opened my Birth of Modern Luxury since I bought it, so I don't know a whole lot about historical LV items. Such a find and a true collector's piece! For the actual auction, click here. Special thanks to Sandra for alerting me about this. LVoe it!!!

Jeremy Deller for Louis Vuitton

The latest collaboration of an artist with Louis Vuitton is not designing a bag or ready to wear, but commissioning Turner Prize Winning Artist, Jeremy Deller to produce an urban garden for the opening of LV's latest store in the retail island of Westfield, in London’s Shepherds Bush. After which, Deller’s botanical installation will be donated to the Hammersmith Community Gardens Project. LVoe it!!! The magnificent exterior of the new LV Boutique in Westfield. Antique Louis Vuitton Asnieres Photo

Wow, Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz starts early this morning because I received this antique photo from my friend, Eiza. It looks like this was a publicity photo of craftsmen from the late 1800's or, it could very well be just a personal pic. As some of you may know, Asnieres, France is where Louis Vuitton manufactures its hard-sided and special order trunks to this day. And, I believe where my ostrich card case was also made. Hmmm...I wonder if this photo was lifted from "Birth of Modern Luxury". I'll have to check on that later. Also, take note of the man seated on the carriage. I think that's Monsieur Louis himself! Thanks, E for brightening up my day this morning! LVoe it!!!

Hmmm..."silent" price increase....

Hmmmm...I have noticed that there seems to be a "silent" price increase that just happened in Louis Vuitton. There has been discrepancies between online and boutique prices or vice versa. Usually my manager will tell me about it but I believe it happened around May 15 when Elux shifted to www.louisvuitton.com. I'm not sure so please confirm. Thanks.

Louis Vuitton Martelé Collection

It was a weekend of visiting all four Louis Vuitton boutiques! Susanne is living now in Las Vegas and was hoping to buy a new purse here in DC. Sadly, she chose another brand but she promised me that she would consider the Monogram Totally for her next bag purchase. In any case, there weren't a lot that was out. June 1st is the start of the big releases: Pre-Fall and Fall Collection , with the Runway Bags coming out towards the end of summer. There is one collection that captured my fancy as we visited all these stores and that is, the Martelé Collection from the Fancy Jewelry Line. They are hammered brass accesories that is composed of a ring, bracelet and the piece de resistance, a necklace that has a Stephen Sprouse silk scarf. They remind me so much of my Spring Summer 2007 Panama Bowly that has the hammered gold hardware (S-lock, rivets and feet). I only saw the necklace and I am hoping to see the ring in the not so distant future. Priced at $280 ring, $725 bracelet, $1000 necklace. What do you guys think? Visit www.louisvuitton.com.

Pre-Birthday Festivities

First LVook: Zipped Passport Holder

I have been using my Glace wallet for the longest time as my passport holder because I was not so impressed by the canvas offerings of LV. But seeing this Zipped Holder has made me consider getting one. Tooted as an organizer in itself, it contains 4 credit card slots and a pen holder. It also has a flap that could hold boarding passes or receipts. Of course, as the name implies, the zipper will keep all these precious belongings secure whilst trying to jostle your way to the jetway. $345 at www.louisvuitton.com.
