My good ol' Fall Winter 2006 Aubergine Onatah, Sprouse Scarf and a bad photo-op with my eyes closed or maybe I just couldn't believe Jerome's latest haul... J's surprise Mahina XXL, BAAAAAMMMMMMMMM!!!!

LVook-See Review of the Kalahari GM

I went to the boutique today, with my usual accomplice, Jerome, and we were presented with 2009 Spring Summer's showpiece, the Kalahari GM. As soon as our SA pulled it out of the dustbag, both of our jaws dropped! The look is stunning but after our initial reactions subsided, Jerome found it uncomfortable to sling over the shoulder. For me, it was quite cumbersome to get in and out of especially with the beads in the front. The metallic leather is soft and luxurious and covers the entire inner flap which was nice but brown microfibre was used for the lining which darkened the interior and could prove to be a challenge when looking for stuff. The bag is definitely a head turner but it lacks functionality if you want an everyday bag. Hope this helps for anyone considering a $3K bag purchase.

LVook See Thursday

Without anything better to do on a cold Thursday evening, Jerome and I decided to treck to our local LV boutique. Sadly, what used to be open late on a Thurs, was closed. I didn't even realize that they changed their hours. So, we opted for the crowded "Mall LV". As expected, the place was jammed packed with only two associates on hand. I felt bad for them so didn't want to be a burden just to LVook at what's out. The first thing I saw was a hybrid Neverfull. I have never seen it before and wondered if it were a new style. It was only Jerome who pointed out that it was the Damier Rivington, with its zipper closed. The LVook totally transformed the bag and made it so much more interesting. After which, I did get to play with the Idylle Fantaisie. Nothing special but perfect for a lazy summer outing. Below it was the Damier Azur Siracusa. Large and bright, this will surely be a hit once the weather starts warming up. Lastly, as we were walking out, I feasted my eyes on the Monogram Estrela. I LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!! It is soooo Vuitton and a happy addition to the Monogram Collection. I'm sorry that I am not as thorough as my other LVook-Sees. I just felt bad for the sales associates.

It was the perfect day to celebrate the union between my friends, Jerome and Tom. The view from the vineyard was breathtaking as Autumn cast its magic spell in Virginia. Thursday LVook-See: African Queen, Slightly and Neo Pont-Neuf

Seeing those pictures of the latest Louis Vuitton feature: A Woman's Journey, I was inspired today to go to the boutique to see for myself the new releases. Jerome and I were greeted at the door by the African Queen in Cuivre. I noticed immediately that the leather was already creased on one side but it still did not detract from the beauty of this evening clutch. I guess it's the nature of the material. The Leopard Nocturne print on the lambskin was amazing and almost ethereal but with the $2580 price tag, it very well should be. Next up were the new colors for the denim line: Rose and Gris. They were tuck away so high up in a shelf that I only had a ground level view. They were okay. My SA was busy with customers so I didn't want to bother him. A little flat as opposed to the original blue. I didn't get to play with the Slightly because I was distracted by what I really came there to see: the Neo Pont-Neuf. The GM is absolutely stunning! Made out of Epi leather, structure is not lacking in this city bag. The purse opens up to reveal two side slats that could easily hold papers and what not. In the middle is a zippered compartment that could hold your daily essentials. It comes in ivory and black with the PM having a Cassis. (Priced at $2080 GM and $1610 PM). What I didn't like about it was that it was hand held again. I am still on the look out for the perfect shoulder LV bag. Jerome surprised me with his latest acquisition and you can see a sliver of it at the edge of the pic. LVoe it!!!

Another Weekend of Louis Vuitton

The day started with me picking up Jerome and Eiza at Tom's house. Within five minutes of getting there, I noticed that Eiza's Galliera had a smudge on the virgin vache leather. She immediately performed damage control by using a white eraser as per my advice. Sadly, the offending mark could not be removed and we resigned ourselves to charge it to "normal" wear and tear. Upon stepping out into the bright sunshine, we decided to have our pictures taken (with our bags of course) in front of Tom's blooming azaleas. What followed was a whirlwind of brunch, enjoying the perfect weather outdoors and visiting Louis Vuitton boutiques from both sides of the Beltway. Finally, Jerome broke down and decided to make the Zippy Organizer his latest acquisition. We were trying to figure out where the date code was and made a little game out of it. It was quite difficult but yours truly eventually found it. After a long, harrowing day, it was all worth it and we wound up at Tom's place discussing even further if Eiza is going to make a purchase of her own. We even went as far as calling the Ala Moana store in Hawaii. The bag of her choice...well...you have to wait for me to post it. Wink...

Speedy Dilemma

Well, it turns out that only the Watercolor Speedy 35 would be coming out tomorrow. A miscommunication within the company occurred and has caused wave upon wave of disappointment for those hoping for the size 30. On a lighter note, Jerome also had some SIZE issues of his own. The big reveal is that he bought a Speedy 40 yesterday but has decided that it was humongous for his purposes. So for the nth time, we drove across town to our local LV boutique. His final answer -- a Speedy 35! Here's our dynamic duo with his ultra-virgin vachetta and my brilliantly shining Mirage.

Tuesday at Louis

I was at the mall today with my good friend Jerome for an overdue dinner date and we happened to wander in the local Louis Vuitton Boutique. (*yeah, right*) Essentially, there was nothing new to see except when my eyes caught a travel protector that was covering a Pegase!!! It is the answer to every traveller's fear that their luggage pieces would be badly scratched or dirtied. Unfortunately, they only come with the newly designed Pegase 45, 55 and 65 and are not sold separately. Boohoo!

Proud to be American!

Jerome just received his citizenship today. But, rather than registering to vote to exercise his rights and be a part of the historical election that is coming up, the first thing he did was rush to our local LV and got himself something that is as un-American as you could get. Louis Vuitton Speedy Retrospective

Last night marked a rare occasion for me.  Not only did my local boutique host a "Speedy Retrospective" highlighting some of the Icon's many incarnations, but my good ol' LV pal, Jerome decided to step out of his orange box to join me in this night of free flowing champagne and open house for patrons.

The exhibit was quite small and I had seen most of these bags when they first came out, but what delighted me most was the photo booth set up for the guests.  Basically, you can have any bag, jewelry or accessory on the shelves and be photographed with them.  I wanted an editorial shot so I grabbed three Speedy Cubes and hid among them. LVoe it!!!
