Louis Vuitton Leather Goods Shortage!!!!!

Did you know that there is a Leather Goods Shortage worldwide and you can now only buy ONE leather good per day?! Gone are the days when you can buy a matching wallet with your bag purchase. According to my sources, until the new factory in France opens, stores are instructed to only sell one item per day. The demand for LV is so high that the factories cannot keep up. This does not include RTW, sunglasses, jewellery etc... Of course, there is a loophole to this moratorium that you can purchase your second leather good the following day. I tried doing two purchases online at www.louisvuitton.com and there seem to be no problem though most of their items are out of stock. Anyone care to share their experiences lately?

  2. I tried to buy a damier azur speedy 30, eva clutch(both damier azur & abene), and a monogram vernis sunset boulevard(pomme d'amour) in Texas a week ago and I was informed that all of these purses were out of stock in that particular store, as well as EVERY store in the entire state... Oh and they mentioned that they was a shortage of each of these items nationwide. They said I could buy them online, but that I should be prepared to be waitlisted. Pretty annoying if you ask me.

  5. Went to Paris to buy the iconic Speedy 25 made in France and Champs Ellyses was sold out. Went to Avenue Montaigne and begged them to sell me their Speedy 25 display. Was only allowed to buy one item during my whole trip and had to give them my passport number. All worth it though to own a purse that I bought in Paris.

  7. Tried to buy any of the Vernis range from Leeds store, Yorkshire, UK today and was told there is a global shortage! Apparently demand has risen so much from the East (China, Japan) that they can't keep up with demand. Just been out in Japan for 3 weeks, visited several Tokyo stores, Kyoto and Hiroshima, and there didn't seem to be ANY problem with supply out there! The stores were bereft of customers.I had assistants clamouring round me! Mind you prices are on average 20% more expensive than EU, we bought a Hermes scarf out there and have just realised our mistake! Oh well. But I believe that Paris LV branches are unofficially trying to limit sales to Japanese customers for this very reason....indeed in Leeds this afternoon they would only sell me a certain bag if I was a "local customer" and on their mailing list (which I am), but still, this is ridiculous....!!!

  8. In Arizona, I went to buy the Galleria PM however it was sold out as were many other models. They are also sold out online. I am on a waitlist to purchase the purse as soon as it comes in. There was no exact information on when or why, only that nationwide there is a shortage. Pretty lame to do before the holidays when most people are looking to spend some money! They need to get with it!
