From Dubai with LVoe

Shelly was in search of her dream bag for the moment, the Palermo GM. Unfortunately, there was none to be had where she lives in sunny Dubai. So she reached out through my blog by posting comments. For her correspondence click here. Sadly, I was not able to help her because when I placed the call, I was informed it was out of stock. A few weeks later, she e-mails me that her husband picked it up from the Mall at Millenia! Of course, I had to request for pics to share with you all. Congratz, S and enjoy your transplanted Palermo. First LVook: The Rodeo Drive and Bel Air

Classy and stylish both for day and evening, the latest additions to the Vernis line are oh so cute. The Rodeo Drive (above) reminds me so much of my Irvine and thus, this gets a two thumbs up. Aris and I had the crazy idea that we should walk home today. After a bit of shopping in historic Georgetown, we finally crossed over to Virginia at dusk. Here's a pic of me overlooking the Potomac River with the Washington Monument peeking in the horizon.

Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz

It has been ages since I posted in my Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz. For some reason, I decided to do so tonight by featuring this classic Damier Trunk. As most of you know, the Damier or checkered (in English) pattern pre-dates the Monogram and was created in 1888. It then faded in the background as the Monogram became more of a hit at the turn of the century. In 1996, Vuitton decided to re-launch the forgotten design by creating a slew of pieces which became an instant success. Today, the Damier takes one-third of the core collection and was recently reinvented with the extremely masculine Graphite line. The trunk featured here comes straight from France and is claimed to be a hundred years old. Nowadays, it's quite impractical to travel with a trunk, especially with the time consumed in airport security. But it is an impressive conversation piece and point of interest in any LVoer's home. Gearing up for winter is such a daunting task so Jerome and I decided to accompany our friend Aris on his puff-jacket search. Unfortunately, Vuittons clashes with North Face's look, so us LVoers just stood by posing with our LVs. NEVER STOP EXPLORING!!!

First LVook: SC Bag by Sofia Coppola for Vuitton

Here's a sneak peek of what's upcoming this Spring borne of Sofia Coppola's collab with Vuitton. The SC bag looks to me like a baby Keepall with bandoulière. She wanted something that is "chic, discreet and lightweight and that isn't enormous." Another piece is a pochette that has a built-in mirror. Very practical and usable. I am really looking forward to her collection. I must admit that I had doubts at first but the SC is quite promising. It will come out in Monogram Canvas with an estimated $2190 price tag. Spotted: Vuittons at Yale

Tonight's episode of Gossip Girl was both raunchy and sappy. Visiting colleges, Blair and Serena had a huge cat fight outside the Dean's house with purses flying and hairs being pulled out. In the end, a touching moment of reminiscing their first time at Yale when they were aged nine brought the two back together the following day. Here's a scene of the BFFs with an Epi-esque piece and a Monogram Alzer or Bisten. I can never tell with the luggage. Mirage Exotics: Griet & Delft

After the Speedy Mirage, the Griet and Delft are my favorites from Vuitton's 2007 Fall Winter Collection. I guess LV is trying to revive their remaining stock because it came up on the website this season. The Griet being $9850 and the Delft $9100.
