New Louis Vuitton Ad for Fall Winter 2009 2010. I LVoe it, Lola Madonna!!!

Presenting to you the first LVeak of the Fall Winter 2009-2010 Ad Campaign featuring the ethereal, air-brushed Madonna with the Pre-Fall Monogram Canvas Irene. The color palette reminds me of the Scarlett Johansson pics from two years ago (click here ). Obviously, the ad was inspired by Horst's famous photo of Coco Chanel, a sharp contrast from the bar scene of Madonna's previous campaign. Click here to see them. LV Ad photographed by Steven Meisel

Night at the Museum: Who do we LVoe?!

Madonna and Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester are both wearing Ready to Wear from Louis Vuitton's Fall Winter 2009-2010 collection (including the boots & shoes) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala Benefit last night. This year's exhibit: “The Model As Muse”. Hmmm...I must say that though I LVoe Leighton's seemingly innocent LVook , I would rather be photographed next to the Queen of Pop in ALL her bunny ears. LVoe it, Lola Madonna!!! True Blue!!! Photo: JustJared See, she would strike a pose like this with me. What is that pochette that is peek-a-booing?! Photo: WWD.com We also have Kerry Washington in oh soooo romantic lace. Photo: WWD.com

Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz

This is the second trunk that I am featuring in my Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz. The seller claims that it comes from the estate of Hildegarde Loretta Sell, a very popular singer of her time. Her life reads like a who's who of the the recording industry. Born in Adell, Wisconsin, she grew up in Milwaukee and was discovered by Irving Berlin. She was the first singer in the business who had a female manager, Anna Sosenko. Through her manager's guidance and influence, Hildegarde started from a simple farm girl into a one-name, designer gown-wearing, continental chanteuse. I guess she was the precursor of the likes of Madonna and Cher. She is considered as the very first international artist, lending her voice to performances in Paris and London, and even had King Gustov of Sweden fall in LV oe with her. She is considered as the first TV star of the 20th century. Eleanor Roosevelt dubbed her as the "First Lady of Supper Clubs and George and Ira Gershwin wrote songs about her. ("My Cousin from Milwaukee"). Her circle of friends included Cole Porter, Rogers and Hammerstein and Liberace to name a few. She wrote her autobiography: Over 50...So What! in the 1960's. She died at the age of 99 in a hospital in New York in 2005. Truly, a colorful lady who is considered by many as the 4th most prolific recording artist of our time. To sample her music, visit amazon.com and click here to know more about the auction. Ended at $3050.00

Vuitton Virgin

I believe in Art and its free expression, but being an ardent devotee of the Blessed Mother, the Vuitton Madonna is kind of hard to take for me. Artist, Francesco De Molfetta, 31 takes an image of Our Lady of Lourdes, and interprets it with her veil being that of the iconic Monogram Canvas. He claims that he created the work "to denounce a society based on the cult of appearance through the use of a brand that represents the search for ephemeral happiness." The biennial is held at Isola del Gran Sasso in the central region of Abruzzo. I think he's just going for the shock factor...just my 2¢.

Tita Madonna au naturel

I just found this "pre-Photoshop" pic of Madge for the Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2009-2010 ad campaign. Some people find it amusing how much the digital world can do and laugh at the au naturel photos. But for me, despite the signs of an aging icon, I still think she LVooks absolutely f*cking gorgeous. Pardon the French. LVoe it!!!

From Malaysia with LVoe

This photo really made my day. Kay from Malaysia writes: love ur blog. i mean honestly, where and how do you keep up with the updates!! and the posts are both recent and so high quality. Keep it up, I wana share a little story about my latest photoshoot. Our renegade photoshoot tried to emulate madonna's fw09 shoot with the irene, and it was tough! i can't keep a sincere smile and my photog was complaining that my smile look fake. the only good thing was i got to touch and feel my friend's Irene. oo the monogram was lovely against the shape. i know that in the picture it looks abit like the suede version but i blame it all on the lighting. that's wat we get for setting a romantic ambiance lighting. hehe keep up with ur blog!!. Thank you for sending this photo, K! You LVook absolutely amazing. LVoe it!!!

My Weekend in New York City ~ Monday

The morning started early for me because I needed to leave the city by 4pm. After a light breakfast of coffee and a biscuit, I headed off to do some window shopping at Madison Ave. The city was hot, humid and gross. I was happy to be in shorts and a light cotton shirt and could not fathom how New Yorkers were taking the heat in their office attire. The hour passed by uneventfully with shop after shop that I went into. My last stop of course was Louis Vuitton on 5th and was delighted to see that they were doing a new installation for their windows. I happily stood there as two guys were stenciling the labels of the latest residents of their moving track. This time, I took my time in the store, seeing the most out of every collection. I saw the newly released Revelation Keepall which had absolutely magnificent leather. I saw a few men's coats that were to die for and Damier boxer shorts that was a bit pricey. Shoes were nice especially the Sprouse Leopard sneakers for men and the Heel with Pearl for women. It then dawned on me to ask for the Bunny Ears from the runway. Unfortunately, they only had the for-retail-version of it which were minute black ears on a plain headband. I wanted the mile high headpiece that was worn by Madonna! Sigh...the headband by the way was $405. I said my goodbyes to P and as I walked out, I remembered him telling me that the Sak's just opened a Women's Ready-to-Wear Department on its third floor. I braved the humidity for a few blocks of walking and this is what greeted me on the floor of Sak's entrance.
