Louis Vuitton" Trunks and Toys" Exhibit Manila July 15 - August 5, 2010

Owing to Louis Vuitton's birthday, I would like to inject a little whimsy in my blog. Not too long ago, LV sponsored an exhibit entitled "Trunks and Toys" in my hometown, Manila. Since I am 8,562 miles away, there was no way that I could view it. Thankfully with the advances in technology and absolutely LVoely people, the exhibit came to me which I would like to share with all of you. The toys are from the founding family, a testimony to their passion for anything to do with travel. The exhibit also includes some antique trunks that were shipped all the way from Asnières, France. I hope you enjoy these pieces as much as I did. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!! 1889 Ostrich 1900 Lady with a wagon 1900 Lady 1920 Chinese Caddies 1920 Musical Elephant 1930 Steamer Boat 1930 Porter 1935 Aeroplane 1935 Sea Plane 1940 Lilliputian Robot 1950 Boat with Couple 1950 Space Conqueror Robot Photos from Louis Vuitton

Happy Birthday, Louis Vuitton!!!

I always consider Monsieur Louis' birthday as a special day. He was born on August 4, 1821 so that's 189 years of LVoe!

First LVook: Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Print Wallets

I still do not know the release names of these absolutely adorable Monogram Vernis print wallets, a re-interpretation of the pochette. The dominant colours though are the recently released Rouge Fauviste and the relatively older Rose Florentine. The pochette wallet now called Sarah was my first wallet from LV and I have since then stuck to that style. These highly stylized prints are making me hold off on my planned late summer purchases. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!! Photos: www.louisvuitton.com.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Empriente

Presenting the new leather line from Louis Vuitton, the Monogram Empriente. Slated to be released on November 1st, 2010, the supple calf leather is discreetly embossed with the Monogram pattern. This will surely delight all LVoers who are interested into sumptious skins with innovative interpretations. Finished with a fine saddle stich, the pieces resonates Louis Vuitton's ideals of artisanship. And those colours!!! LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!! Photos from www.louisvuitton.com.

Omarion

American R & B artist Omarian wearing an LV Initiales Monogram Belt. I LVoe, LVoe this photo!!!

Louis Vuitton Wilshire

Also making an appearance in boutiques is the Wilshire (GM 16.7" x 12.4" x 5.5" and MM 14.1" x 10.6" x 4.9"). A structured tote that is large enough to carry a laptop or netbook, the Wilshire has an open top with a dock clip closure, pretty similar to the now iconic Neverfull. For now, it appears that the GM is only available in Amarante while the MM has Rouge Fauviste, Gris Art Deco and Amarante. Rouge Fauviste for the GM will be available around September. Check it out at www.louisvuitton.com for $1615 and $1220. LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Pershing Clutch

The latest addition to the Monogram Vernis Collection is the Pershing Clutch. Simple yet sophisticated, the Pershing comes in two sizes GM (13.4" x 8.5") and PM (10.2" x 6.7") and in two colours, Amarante (below) and the much awaited Rouge Fauviste (above), a cross between (Pomme d'Amour and Amarante). The piece has credit card slots in the interior and is perfect for the little essentials. $535 for the PM; $685 for the GM; available at www.louisvuitton.com.

Speaking of Scrumptious...

Uh...I mean the large hard case that he is carrying. Is that all vache leather?!

Louis Vuitton Cabas Briska

LVook at all that leather, boyz! The Cabas Briska is part of the Men's Fall Winter 2010 2011 Line-up. Briska leather is being released this season and from the photo, I could tell that it would be scrumptious. I could almost smell and feel the buttery skin. Of course, with all that animal hide comes a hefty price tag of $3550. Knowing Vuitton, I'm sure it's all worth LVoe it!!!

What's up with this poncho?

I was at a club this weekend and saw this vid of “Just Be Good to Green” and instantly recognized the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall cape-coat on Lily Allen. I know that Kate Hudson was seen twice back in April wearing it, but doesn't it look a tad bit matronly? I guess I have to see it in real life to appreciate it. Who knows, I might end up LVoein' it?!

Louis Vuitton Columbia Beret

Even though we are dead smack in the heat of summer, I LVook forward to what LV has in store for us in the Fall, particularly the accesories. The Columbian Beret is one such example. Sporting stripes that evokes collegiate wear, the 100% wool would be perfect to ward off autumn's blustery wind. Gris, Cassis and Red are the colour choices so take your pick! LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!! $325 at www.louisvuitton.com.

Vuitton Virgin

I believe in Art and its free expression, but being an ardent devotee of the Blessed Mother, the Vuitton Madonna is kind of hard to take for me. Artist, Francesco De Molfetta, 31 takes an image of Our Lady of Lourdes, and interprets it with her veil being that of the iconic Monogram Canvas. He claims that he created the work "to denounce a society based on the cult of appearance through the use of a brand that represents the search for ephemeral happiness." The biennial is held at Isola del Gran Sasso in the central region of Abruzzo. I think he's just going for the shock factor...just my 2¢.

Louis Vuitton Macassar Neo Card Holder

One thing that I never leave the house without is my trustee Simple Card Holder. I have my driver's license, debit and train card in it. Add to the fact that it was one of the first LV's that I purchased way back when, it holds a certain sentimental value. But, I am pleased to feature the Neo Card Case from the Macassar Collection. This one can hold three credit cards and a bit of cash or maybe some receipts. The black breaks up the Monograms quite beautifully. $250 at www.louisvuitton.com.
