Just be careful when you're walking with them...
I was about to jump the bandwagon yesterday and forget about my bag ban when I saw the Sprouse Roses. But, I was able to resist the urge especially when my SA talked me out of it. But seeing the lining of the Graffiti Neverfull has broken my resolve again. At $1260, I can't wait for this shabby chic satchel to hit the local boutiques. One thing I don't like though is that usually the Neverfulls are made in the USA. Hmmm...I guess I could make an exception this time since Sprouse was an American. I received the distressing call from my Store Manager today that there won't be any Graffiti this coming January 9. They already received their shipment and only the Sprouse Roses are coming out. Since I have a self imposed Bag Ban for 2009, I might just saunter over there to peruse the line for you all. The Graffiti though will be available to anyone who could dash to the Soho Boutique whose storefront is being redecorated for the release. Plastered in the entrance way is the iconic Louis Vuitton inscription. Don't forget to visit the Deitch Projects whose exhibit will also open on said date. Lucky New Yorkers! I've never really paid attention to LV timepieces because I am a loyal fan of another brand. But a visit to vuitton.com's Japanese website, I was intriuged by their video called Black Force. It features the iconic Tambour in Black in its three incarnations: automatic, chronometer and of course, the diamond studded. Ooops, as I am writing this post, I realized that the UK website has the video too. LV is tooting it as "the watch for modern travellers" and it "marks time in an original and unexpected manner". Visit www.louisvuitton.com to see the video.
Thanks for the very sweet letter Calvin! It really made my day. Keep the LVoe alive and someday I'm sure you'll have your LV.
For those of you who've gone past Christmas and looking forward to the next gift giving event, the Vernis Hearts in the new colors is perfect as a sweetheart token. Forget about roses and chocolates! This ever popular coin purse doubles as a charm and has little trinkets at chain's end. $450. Visit www.louisvuitton.com or save on tax at eLUXURY.com
Ushering the New Year with the new Vernis colours is this latest offering from the city bags collection called the Wilshire Boulevard. A small tote that fits one's essentials this $855 bag is a great starter bag if you desire something other than the classic monogram. My favorite colour for this is the Bleu Galactic. The Louis Vuitton New Year greetings card feature Easter Island MOAI statues. The statues represent the souls of the Rapa Nui people; they are a symbol of spiritual and cultural heritage in the world today. Louis Vuitton supports these values, which are close to its own tradition of transmitting heritage.
In 2009, Louis Vuitton will help establish a Foundation for the sustainable development of Easter Island and in Spring 2009, the Espace Louis Vuitton in Paris will hold an exhibition entitled "Silent Writings", inspired by the ancient writing of the Easter Island. In making this long-term commitment, Louis Vuitton hopes to raise awareness on the challenges that the Rapa Nui people face today and on the importance of protecting and transmitting heritage in the world.
