Mad dash to LV before the price increase
My New Beaubourg
Tuesday, April 15, 2008
Aloha to my new Beaubourg!
I just got my new Beaubourg from Hawaii today and I truly LVoe it! It's basically like any other north-south tote but with a zippered safety compartment. Ample space to hold lots of stuff and can expand quite a bit. What truly amazes me about this bag is the attention paid to the alignment of the monogram flowers. Beautifully hand-crafted. I can't wait to use it for my upcoming trip! Oh by the way, that's Angel's new Menthe Tahitienne GM.

The New Zippy Coin Purses are out!
I fell in LVoe with these little suckers ever since Apol bought his classic monogram. It's small but still quite functional and I'm looking forward to the one in Murakami Multicolore. The photo was taken from eluxury.com and is currently out of stock. Monogram & Damier $290; Epi $340, MC $380.
The Marilyn
An homage to Marilyn Monroe, this ample evening bag could also be used as an occasional for those lazy brunches in the middle of the week. Released in several incarnations from vache trim, to colorful exotics and the latest, gold leather! This has got to be my most favorite multicolore that definitely does justice to Norma Jean. Vache $1310 (current), Gold (May-June release) $1550, Exotics (limited edition 2007) $4950. Visit www.louisvuitton.com
Well, someone else was busy this weekend...

Twin Totes
R.P Pony at 5th Ave
The Flagship store is currently showcasing the Richard Prince Firebird. Made out of pony hair embroidered with his signature cartoons, simply by far the haute couture of handbags. Originally priced in the lookbooks at $8250, the current retail for this collector item is $10,800!!! Visit www.louisvuitton.com. Photo credit: jenskar
Jerome, is that tsu?
Oooohhh...a Murakami Neverfull
I am actually bummed that the Murakami retrospective at the Brooklyn Museum does not have a limited edition piece to celebrate the artist. Nicki Hilton here is wearing the one from MOCA and was an instant hit to LVoers everywhere. Apparently, during its run, one can order from the MOCA through your local boutique.

Anniversary at the Cosmos Club
House Hunting
Angel's on the market for a new house in DC so Wilfredo and I tagged along. We saw this wonderful abode in the heart of Logan Circle which was filled with topiaries and 18th century antique prints. The house was simply breathtaking and I could not resist asking Wil to take a photo. I included an inset showing Angel's new Tahitienne which she picked up after we adjourned. Puuuuhhhllleezzz Ange, get yourself a new camera phone!
The Big Whigs of Fashion
Congratz Jenny!
I know this posting is a tad bit late, but wanted to share this motherly pic of Jennifer Lopez. I LVoe JLo and I started listening to her music at about the same time when I was getting into LV. So, whenever I hear her on the radio or see pics of her, it always conjures up warm, fuzzy memories of those first trips to the boutique. By the way, of course, she is wearing an LV scarf to pull back her hair. LVoe it!

WOW, would you have paid $210,000 for this?
I can't get enough of the Beaubourg
Soon to be released in the US (June 1), I can't wait to get my hands on the Beaubourg. Unfortunately, the UK will also be getting it at the same time, and I was planning to purchase it there as my souvenir from New Bond Street. Japan and Hawaii have it already and Asia will receive it on May 1st. Hmmmphhh...I may need to make a lot of international calls in the next few days.

Louis Vuitton Beaubourg
It's still quite early here in Virginia. The ground is wet from the night's rain. The birds are chirping outside. Piolo just finished his breakfast. And the Japanese Vuitton website has a new tote!!! It's called the Beaubourg. This unisex bag is a must have for those short trips to the bookstore for a cup of coffee. I have decided that this will be my New Bond Street LV.

Brooklyn Museum Vuitton Store
Marc, please don't do this to me...
Brooklyn Museum Murakami Exhibit
With tomorrow being the opening of the Brooklyn Museum's Murakami Exhibit, Louis Vuitton has decided to be creative in its presentation of the artist's famed multicolore line by setting stalls that are akin to New York City's Canal Street. Known for it's counterfeit industry, the blatant irony of the concept was used for yesterday's Charity Ball at the museum. It's bold and oozing with sarcasm. I LVoe it!
The Seated Nymph
I visited the National Gallery of Art today to view the exhibit Bronze and Boxwood and found this piece of sculpture a delight to behold! I LVoe statuary and this particular one made the trip all worthwhile.

On the other hand, here's my Mini Lin Speedy, seated like a nymph himself among the Gallery's floral display in the main portico. No matter how many different Speedys I own, my Mini Lin is still my most favorite!

The Tahitienne
Inspired by Vuitton's catalog of the 1920's, this absolute darling of a beach tote is a must have for any summer LVoer. I am not so wild though about the price point considering they are only made out of textile but, I guess, to each his own. It comes in two sizes GM ($1160) and PM ($1000)and an array of colors (lilac, menthe, sandy and pink).Visit www.louisvuitton.com.
