Hot new items with the Trunks and Bags logo are soon to be available. One is a cles and the other one is a small, flat wallet that has a D-ring so that it can conveniently be attached to another Louis. Really cute!!! I can't wait to see them in real life. LVoe it!!! Pics may not be to scale.

For those breathtaking cherry blossoms...

I can just imagine myself carrying this new introduction for Spring-Summer 2008 as I jump from one Hanami (Cherry blossom viewing party) to another. This dual zippered tote with the dyed python trim is simply perfect for Springtime in DC! It was designed in collaboration with Richard Prince and the writing is from jokes by Henny Youngman. I wonder if it will really go into production. Photo from ValleyOppressed of the Purse Forum.

Vuitton USB Flash Drive

Designed by Fred de Garilhe for the technologically savvy who wants to add a bit of luxury, this USB flash drive comes with 40 gigabytes and is structurally made with either white or yellow gold. Covered in rich exotic leathers of ostrich or alligator, additional diamonds and sapphires could be added if a little bling is desired. Some of them also comes with an analog or digital clock and as an added security feature, a lock and key is built into the design to keep all your secrets. I guess I need to get one of these since Arjay sends me tons of pics.

The Griet

The Griet came out with the patent leather trimmings that the Mirage line is elegantly known for. Miss Scarlett is über fabulous donning it in one of her ads. Needless to say, it was a bit pricey. I guess they wanted to come up with with a more affordable alternative and out comes these beauties. I would die with those vachettas because they are thick and it is quite necessary to touch them. LVoe it anyways. Prices: Mirage $3450; Monogram and Damier $1770; Multicolore $2030 Visit www.louisvuitton.com.

The things I've missed...

I have been so busy lately that I haven't been updating my Louis blog that I practically missed posting the newly released Cruise line. I wasn't so wild about it when I saw it in real life. I have been using my Speedy Mini lin this past whole week and I think this is a better material in terms of looks than the one pictured below. I guess I might change my mind when spring rolls in. It also comes in red. Speedy Mini Lin Croisette $805. Visit www.louisvuitton.com.

Le Barong de Tagalog

During my visit to the Philippines, I just couldn't help myself when I had the opportunity in Lumban, Laguna to have a Barong Tagalog, the National Philippine Costume for men, especially made with a stylized version of the Vuitton flowers. So here is my Barong in pineapple-jusi fiber. Now all I have to do is host a Philippine Gala here in DC to show it off. PS: Lumban is one of the oldest towns in Laguna and is considered the "Embroidery Capital of the Philippines."

Palermo and Tivoli

Two days from now and these new additions will be released and scores of LV LVoers will be rushing to their stores to grab hold of one. I was in LV the other day and my LVoely SA showed me the new cruise line Speedy and the affordable alternative Griet with the regular vachetta. They didn't tempt me at all to put down my credit card but am sure they will get into the arms of fashionistas somehow. Prices: Palermo PM $970; GM $1170 Visit www.louisvuitton.com.

Christmas Balls a la Vuitton

Slated also to be released for this Holiday Season are these balls-a-bangin' key rings. I have not seen them in real life but judging from the pics, I think the Jack and Lucie from Halloween past were cuter. Comes in blue and rose.

Interesting items in LV Manila

I saw these little LVoelies just begging to be purchased in Manila but unfortunately/fortunately the price was too steep for me. They are quite heavy but soooo cute and adorable that I just want to gobble them up. Added feature is the mirror within. A much needed visit to the Maryland boutique is in order to ascertain if these have been released yet.

Louis Vuitton Greenbelt, Manila

All in all, my trip to my homeland was fabulous albeit too short. I enjoyed the shopping, the food, the renewing of old ties as well as the meeting of new friends. But most of all, to actually see my country again and through the eyes of my partner who has never been, has made me realize that a part of me never really left. Even though my life now is here in the US, I am still and will always be a full-blooded Filipino. I LVoe, LVoe the Philippines.

Souvenir de Manille

I have been wanting a passport cover since I found out that I was going home to Manila but was not impressed with the Mono Canvas or Damier holders. I was really wanting the Utah (which I can't find anymore) but when I saw this in Greenbelt LV, I was thrilled and I knew I had to have it! This line has been discontinued as well and it played a big factor in my decision. I consider myself lucky that they still had one. Your right louis vuitton etc...it is from the Monogram Glacé collection! So here's a pic of my souvenir from the PI. I'm back!!!

Sorry for being in absentia for so long. In between trying to get rid of my jetlag and re-arranging furniture to accomodate my Philippine acquisitions, I have been way too busy to take care of my lil' cyber blog. But have no fear, I am back and can't wait for the November 1st releases. I purchased two items from Louis Vuitton Manila. One, being the wonderful, out-of-print coffee table book by Paul-Gerard Pasols: Birth of Modern Luxury. The other...well, I haven't taken pics of it yet so here's a file photo of the line it came from. Can anyone guess?

Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz

Of late, I have been lazy in writing my Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz. It seemed that every e-bay auction dealt with the same ol' boring steamer. Not today! As of this writing with only two hours to go for the auction, I found this wonderful trunk designed by Manolo Blahnik. In 1996, for the celebration of the company's centennial, pillars of the fashion industry were invited to create their own interpretations of Vuitton's long history particularly that which concerns travel. Blahnik's contribution of course was meant to house his world-renowned forte -- shoes. Lined in a luxurious fuschia fabric that is to die for, my only problem would be what pair from my vast collection would have the honor to be contained in it. I wonder if the Philippines' former First Lady, Imelda Marcos has this in her collection. Maybe she doesn't and will have the ocassion to place a bid. But then again, with 2,000 pair of shoes, she would need a thousand trunks and I don't think Vuitton made that many. For actual auction, click here.

Griet

I had the opportunity to take a sneak peak at the lookbook this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Mirage Griet would be released in Damier, Monogram and Black Multicolore. I can't wait for these lines to come out. I hope that they would be more affordable than the pictured exotique. Photo credit: www.louisvuitton.com
