Saturday at the National Gallery
One of my favourite springtime displays in DC are the wisteria vines flanking the Mall entrance of the National Gallery. Lending a romantic feel to an otherwise boring façade, they are sweet smelling and such a wonderful splash of dainty, light violet blooms. Here I am underneath them with my trustee ol' Conspiration lunettes.

From Sara with LVoe at Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs Exhibit
Hi Francis
Not sure if you remember me! Wish you were in Paris right now! I know someone has already sent you some photo's of the amazing Marc Jacobs/Louis Vuitton exhibition at the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs but I just had to share with you the day I had today . My poor husband has also been caught in my Louis Vuitton obsession web and I just bought him the Mick GM to match his Damier Graphite Marco wallet. After the exhibition taxi'ed it straight up the Champs Elysee to LV to pick up the beautiful book that accompanies it (couldn't buy it at the museum shop, had to get it at Louis!). Also took some shots of the latest windows at the CE store.
Hope you like and thank you so much for making each day Louis Day!!! Love it and you!
Sara
(formally Brisbane Australia now France!)
All the bags sat in cupcake cases. Amazing selection.
So excited...I have one of the black and white graffiti bags and they had my marine leopard stole displayed, was very proud!
The nurse's hands waved.
Saw these windows a few weeks ago but was too anxious to get inside. My husband was in London and told me NOT to buy anything....started with an inclusion bangle in amarante, then the rayeres (can't remember how to spell it) stole and then his bag to cover up the damage!
Of course, I remember you! Thank you for sharing your vacation photos with us Sara. I truly felt that I was with you in the exhibit. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton First LVook: Monogram Raspail
Now that the excitement of the Fall Winter fashion show has died down a bit, let us talk about what's coming out this week. Slated to be released on March 15, the Monogram Raspail is the latest offering for the Core Collection Line. It will come in 3 sizes PM $1060, MM $1190 and GM $1320. Even though the shape is very much like the Neverfull, the bag is structured with a zippered top. The rolled handles are long so it's exclusively a shoulder bag. It also has a signature handle fastener. I do LVoe the shape of the tabs that attach to the body. The interior lining is that rich burgundy colour, as opposed to the classic brown. I am surprised that the name is not akin to Totally or Delightful. All I can find about Raspail is that its a district in Paris and there was a François-Vincent (January 25, 1794 - January 7, 1878) who was a French chemist, naturalist, physiologist, and socialist politician. Also, this is not the first time that this name was used by LV. Below is a pic of a vintage Monogram bag of the same name. LVoe it!!!

Eeeekkk!!!!
After I posted the exhibition details of LV and MJ, I decided to check youtube if there were any videos posted about it. At the 0:33s, this is what I saw!
The trunk was actually shown quite a few times. To think that it travelled in that particular time period from France to Manila is simply amazing. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!
Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs
Louis Vuitton - Marc Jacobs, opened yesterday at the Musée Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Serving as a double biography, it highlights the contributions of each man in the world of fashion. Vuitton, an innovator that forwarded the luggage industry stretching into our times and Jacobs, a designer who in 15 years has made LV a power house to be reckoned with. What does Marc think of the exhibition? "I think curators have a kind of cerebral, heady, comparative narrative thing going on. For me the reward of doing what we do is doing it, not when it's done. And when people wear it and love it and covet it or can't wait to have it, whatever it is. So I think my attitude towards the whole thing was that I was very flattered, but how do we make this experience of what fashion is all about - which is the joy."
An analysis rather than a retrospective, this parallel Vuitton-Jacobs comparison will provide new insight into the fashion system during its pivotal periods, beginning with its industrialisation and ending with its globalisation, focussing also on its artistic professions and crafts, technological advances, stylistic creations and artistic collaborations ~ Musée Les Arts Décoratifs.
