Mad about collectibles
In celebration of Louis Vuitton's Beijing Store opening, the company is to release these cute little darlings. Don't be fooled by their diminutive size because their prices are a bit high. The epi lockit which are available in the US cost a little over a thousand and the alzer and hat box are about $600. LVoe it!!! Source, click here.

Black Denim Agenda
In line with the Neo Cabby I featured yesterday, I want to share with y'all this hot find courtesy of travelbliss. (for the original post click here). It is exquisitely LVoely and the burnished brass hardware is to die for! Sheila once told me that I tend to create-a-need for the items that I want and this definitely is one of them. I absolutely have no use for it other than it could be my first from the denim line. We'll see...Photo credit: travelbliss

Denim Néo Cabby
Even though this bag has been released for quite some time now, I think a featurette about it is in order. Versatile and highly functional, this new introduction to the denim line is highly sought after. I really LVoe the black denim and worry-free leather trim. It also comes in blue with untreated vachetta. It's roomy and you have a choice to use it as a handheld or shoulder bag. I go gah-gah for pleats and I don't even know why, so that was an instant plus for me. The only thing that kept me from adding this baby to my collection is the made in the USA tag. I'm a big made-in-France-LV-LVoer. Available on eluxury.com or louisvuitton.com. GM is $1720; MM is $1500.

I just got the new Le Catalogue Maroquinerie
I stepped into Saks today and my absolutely wonderful LV Store Manager gave me the new Le Catalogue. I know for some countries it has been out since July but the US has been lagging. The cover is absolutely divine and very tasteful. I would describe the color as antique gold matte. Here's a picture of it nestled among the folds of my luxurious mink scarf. More importantly at a quick glance, I saw new additions like the Neverfull, Mini Lin, Beverly, Hampstead as well as the removal of past lines such as the Theda and Monogram Mini. I just LVoe these charcoalesque illustrations. SIGH...Run to your nearest LV Boutique!!! LVoe it!!!

Helpful Tip about Vachetta
I was going out for the evening and decided to use my mini T&B pochette accesoires since I knew the restaurant was going to be crowded. As I was about to leave, I was lighting my Halloween tree outside. Jeff keeps saying that it's too early for that, but I really LVoe its welcoming glow. Stupid me, I completely forgot that I just watered it and as soon as I realized this, a spot was already growing on the relatively new vachetta. Thankfully, I had the presence of mind to rush inside and blow dry the offending droplet. To my amazement, it disappeared before my eyes and it's as if nothing happened. Here's a pic of the vachetta tab with a new ad from Louis Vuitton showcasing a wondeful man bracelet. (Medal bracelet $420)

When Art meets Louis
I was bored today at work and decided to do a Google image search and found this interpretation of Murakami's signature multicolore on a man's bust. The caption read: Louis Vuitton David Bust, 2005; found object, gold leaf, acrylic; 28" x 13" x13". I LVoe the idea that the iconic monogram and flowers were superimposed to a clearly classical image. It reminds me of the different interpretations of the Mona Lisa that has populated the art world for centuries. This time, though, Trek Thunder Kelly (the artist) has combined antiquity with Vuitton's contemporary design. For the actual site, click here.
Ladies, line-up please!

Eole in Damier
For all you guys who have been waiting for the Eole to come out in Damier, it is already available on eluxury. I'm LVoeing the design!!! The opening is quite different from the Monogram Eole due to the leather strap that secures the flaps on each side. Click here to purchase the 50 and here for the 60. Eole 50--$1640; 60--$1940.

Murakami Neverfull
I just saw this posting on the Purse Forum and I wanted to share it with all of you. I think that it gives the already amazing Neverfull an added panache even though the design is a tad bit weird. But that's something that we have come to expect from Murakami and with the Damier Neverfull's released date being pushed further, this could be a highly promising and collectible alternative. To view the actual post click here. LVoe it!!!!

LV on the Beltway
While I was driving in the Beltway on this beautiful, crisp morning, these tags caught my eye and I instantly wanted to take a picture of it. He probably meant "Love is All", but as soon as I saw it, I knew it would be my first blog entry today. Even though I LoVe, LiVe and breathe Vuitton, I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is MY ALL. However, I guess Marc Jacob's adage rings true: "You can't spell love without LV."

US Dollar Prices on Vuitton Website
I have always used the UK website to determine prices for items but I stumbled on this weird way of accessing it in the US website. First I looked for Vuitton passport holder in Google. Then it took me to this weird page:
After that, if I chose US on there, I could see all the items with their corresponding dollar prices. There must be somekind of encryption that reveals the US prices.
Click here for the actual site with the US prices. LVoe it!!!

Visionaire 52 Cover Changes
Last July I posted this really cool edition of Visionaire wherein they collaborated with Vuitton to produce a gold Miroir sleeve. Unfortunately, as I was checking the status of my pre-order, I was surprised to see that they changed the file photo to one that looks like a cardboard/metal cover. Purse Forumers scrambled to inquire about this both from Amazon and Visionaire and the answers were ambiguous. Needless to say, I decided to cancel all of my three orders and just focus on my one piece of Miroir -- my beLVoed Gold Lockit!

Mirage Day Out
Jeff and I decided to have dimsum in Chinatown today since it is quite close to the newly opened West Elm Store in DC. I was happy to find out that West Elm took over the old Woodward and Lothrop Building. Woodies was an iconic department store headquartered in the nation's capital and went out of business around the mid-1990s. I used to pass by it when I attended an annual Advent concert around the area and marveled at its architectural details. It always seemed dark and abandoned so you could imagine my delight when I saw it in its current reincarnation. Here I am in front of one of its ornate facade ironwork.
After which we decided to visit the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery to see the "Encompassing the Globe" exhibit which focuses on Portugal's discoveries and influences on those cultures. I was glad that we were able to see it on its last day since it was filled with interesting artifacts including this quartrefoil box from the Mughal Dynasty (1650). I was carrying my Mirage with me and pointed out to Jeff the similarity of the box with one of Vuitton's flowers. He looked at me as if I were crazy comparing a 400-year old piece of art to my "hideously ugly" bag. All in all, I still believe it was a wonderful day...
All About Alcantara
The Speedy Mirage is my first ever piece with the alcantara lining. I always thought that the name was just something that Vuitton picked up to denote luxuriousness and high style. It turns out that Alcantara is a registered trademark of an Italian corporation that specializes in producing the material for companies like Maserati, Lamborghini, Ligne Roset and of course Louis Vuitton. It was invented by a Japanese scientist, Dr. Miyoshi Okamoto in the 1970's and was launched through the help of the ENI Group under its current name, Alcantara®. It is machine-washable and highly stain resistant plus it feels really, really nice. LVoe it!!! To know more about the Alcantara click here. Original tPF post. Photo credit: vuittonamour

The Wait Is Over --- My Speedy Mirage
Snapshot of Marina for Cruise 2008
Temperatures are slightly dropping here in the East coast and with all the Fall collections coming out from Vuitton, it's hard to even consider looking ahead to their nouveau lines. Here's just a sample from style.com's runway review. I am quite intrigued by this new tote avec red trimmings! Haven't decided if I LVoe it yet. You can also take a quick peak at www.louisvuitton.com under their fashion section. What I am looking forward to though, is the new Mini Lin line with stripes. I am in LVoe with this material and can't wait to see the new interpretation in real life. Just for good measure, I am on waitlist for that one as well. Expected release date of the tote above is November. Photo credit: Don Ashby

Bordeaux or Noir?!?
I saw both colors today and I am now extremely torn between which one to get. I didn't really like the black at first glance. When I saw the bordeaux, it kind of peaked my interest since it was different and I LVoe the maroon alcantara lining. The black is truly classic and I think a lot more people prefer that. But there was something about the bordeaux that just captured my fancy. ARRRGGHHH, I really can't decide.

Maraming Salamat Po, Merci Beaucoup, Arigato Gozaimasu, Muchas Gracias, Thank You Very Much!!!
Surprisingly, the doorbell rang this morning and it was a Fedex guy delivering an eluxury box!!! Opening it, I found this wonderful Multicolore mini-scarf. I didn't need to open the card because I already knew who it was from. Who else would give me a Murakami Multicolore than my fellow LVoer friend, Apol?!? I LVoe it!!! Multicolore mini-scarf, eluxury, September 8, 2007.

Seam or No Seam?!?
With only nine days to go for the supposed release of the Speedy Mirage, the pressing question of the moment is whether it will have a seam at the bottom. This will afford the bag to have both sides with the "LV" on the upright position. Arjay attests to the fact that the bag he saw on Tuesday's Trunk Show had a seam. It is probably one of the most attractive features of this much awaited bag. Unfortunately, this photo from Cecilia Van Straten's flickr post clearly shows that it lacks the said seam. Oh well, I guess we will have to agonize and wait for its eminent release to find out. It's making me quite antsy...

Updated Photos of the Mahina XXL
Just wanted to share this updated photo of the newly released Mahina. I made a mistake from my previous post in calling it La Malleable from the Mahina Line. Apparently Mahina (a Polynesian Lunar deity) IS the name of the bag and not the line. The design was inspired by the crescents and phases of the moon and if it were not for the upcoming Mirage, I would have seriously considered this. Interestingly enough, the word "mahina" in Tagalog could mean "soft like a whisper". Now if you can imagine touching a whisper, it definitely has that element due to the supple calf leather. LVoe it!!! Visit eluxury to view it. ($3750) Photo credit: eluxury
Brainstorming
I just wanted to share with y'all this photo from Mattd7474 (for actual posting click here). It's a lil' brainstorming tableau of the Tribute bag and reminds me of a birthday card that I made when I was around 10 years old. It amazes me how this idea came into fruition and has become LV's most expensive bag yet. To purchase Marc Jabos and Louis Vuitton DVD documentary click here. Now to purchase the bag, you have to visit your local LV boutique. GoodLVck!

Trunk Show in Miami
I am sooo, sooo jealous of Arjay because it's Vuitton's Trunk Show at Saks Dadeland today! I hope you examine every stitch, seam and patented leather of this much awaited collection especially the Speedy Mirage. I can't believe you didn't take time off from your busy work schedule to spend hours trying on these LVoely pieces. To think that I would have given an arm and a leg to be there with you. I expect a three-page report by noon tomorrow!

Blast from the Past Series
I have decided to add another feature to my blog--the Blast from the Past Series. I only started liking Vuitton not too long ago and it has now become a passion of mine. There are collections that I wish I could turn back Time for. Sadly, these are items that I would not be able to experience anymore except through writing about them here in my humble blog. Let me start of with the Trompe L'oeil Collection. The term denotes a style of painting that gives an illusion of photographic reality. These pieces that were released in the Fall/Winter of 2004 clearly captures this definition. I really find them quite interesting and unique. Without further ado, I present to you the ~Trompe L'oeil collection~:
Prices then: Le Fabuleux $6450; L'Ingenieux $5400; Trocadero $3200; Pochette $1460

200th post -- The Mirage Line
I was fumbling on-line to search for any information regarding the impending release of the Mirage line. I found this wonderful photograph of what I assume is the backstage of a fashion show. Pictured is a Mirage Alma Voyage, Griet and a Sac plat as held by this extremely fortunate soul. I hope this illusion will become a reality soon. I can't wait for the Speedy's release! LVoe it!!!
