First Louis Vuitton LVook-See of 2013: Monogram Metis

For most, January 1st is a day of celebration and anticipation for the new year.  But for me it's usually the day of new releases at my local boutique.  I was excited to see that they had the Monceau BB ($1610) on display. As the name implies, it is quite small.  Unlike the Alma or Lockit BB, this one takes a bit of time to get in and out of due to the design and the iconic S-lock.  But for the LVook, it is a stunning piece.  The New Sobe Clutch on the other hand has an interesting clasp mechanism hence the $1260 price tag.  I only held it for less than a minute and it was disappointingly covered with my fingerprints. My hands were dry and lotion free so that's something to think about if one is considering these Vernis pieces.

The star of my visit though was the Monogram Metis Hobo.  The pochette was there too but I was so enamored with the Artsy-esque hobo that I completely forgot all about it.  Crafted out of supple and soft Monogram canvas (really buttery soft), this definitely made my heart pitter-patter.  The name is derived from Greek mythology and the bag's design draws from her wise and cunning nature which are represented in its multi-functionality.  Either of the shoulder straps are detachable. Lined in anthracite microfibre, the S-lock enclosed pocket is a wonderful detail.

I really LVoe, LVoe, LVoe this bag and am seriously thinking about it.  Any thoughts?

  1. Saw the métis pochette & hobo bag on Dec 31 '12 ..... The day before the official January launch, I like the pochette, but the S lock is an ISSUE, you can't just get up and go... You need to make sure it is securely locked and it has a bit of weight to it ... I think the HOBO style is better designed (if you are into slouchy oversized bags AND most importantly the DISPOSABLE INCOME .. haha
