Louis Vuitton Holiday 2011 Windows

Even though I was sorely disappointed that I did not get to see the Rayures today, I was pleasantly surprised by the windows. Louis Vuitton's theme for this Holiday is the circus, so our store had a balancing striped elephant and trapeze swings to showcase the bags. It's very cute so I urge you to go visit your boutique, but if not I hope my amateur photos will do. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Monogram Rayures pushed back to a December release

Well folks! I went to see for myself the Rayures today only to be informed by the store that the release date has been pushed back to December. No exact date as of yet so that's kinda weird. The collection is already in store but the SA said that they got in trouble for showing it yesterday to a customer. So here's the LVook-See pic from last week.

Louis Vuitton Holiday Catalogue 2011

The Holidays are here again and Louis Vuitton did not disappoint in its whimsical catalogue of circus personalities. I have not received my copy in the mail yet but I am LVooking forward to it. Take note of the new Epi Sévigné ~ a very classic shape! LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Monogram Rayures Collection

Well, it's that time of year when the cold weather makes you want to take a vacation where the climate is a little bit more favorable and fashion house's start to release the Cruise pieces that come with such fantasy. Heading up the pack for Louis Vuitton is the Monogram Rayures Collection that is slated to be released this November 15. Basically, it's Monogram Canvas with a twist which in this case, are cream stripes. The collection is confined to the Noe and Neverfull in terms of bags and it's matching Insolite wallet. The Noe will be $1800, the petit version, $1440. The Neverfull will have an extra-large going for $1750 and the GM for $1330, the MM and PM, of course a bit lower. I LVoe this take on the Monogram and can't wait to see it in real life!

Louis Vuitton Teddy Bear

Isn't this one of the saddest things that you have ever seen? That poor lil' LV bear is suffocating! Part of the Men's Fall Winter Runway Collection in 2004-2005, this little bear was released in a limited number of 500 units. It's a numbered piece so it's a true limited edition. The cutie pie is number 445 according to the auction which I have been following when it was first listed as $8550. Now it has gone down in price since no one in their right mind would buy such an extravagance. Except maybe me, if I had the cash lying around. For the auction, click here.

Louis Vuitton LVook-See UPDATE: Collections are released November 2!

My boutique invited me yesterday to have LVook-See of the Fall Winter bags that are slated to be released this November 1st but are now pushed back to November 15th. It must be a marketing ploy to catch the wave of Holiday shoppers since I noticed even the Speedy 30 is out of stock on line. Also, rumour has it that LV is planning to change the label "made in USA" for those that come from the San Dimas Factory. Apparently they found a loophole to skirt putting the label on. I guess the US will now be exporting LV to meet the worldwide demand and as most of you know, the rest of the world particularly Asia and Europe prefer the "made in France" pieces. They are all the same in terms of quality anyways so I dunno what the big deal is. Hmmm....well, let's wait and see if it's really going to happen....In any case, shall we LVook at the bags? The first one they took out was the Olympe from the High End Collection. This is not the first time that LV has created a canvas and leather combo but what I noticed is that the canvas was so soft and supple that it feels like leather. I was truly amazed by this. The bag has three compartments with a middle zipper. I found the flap cumbersome but it can easily be folded inside to make the bag "open". Between the two, I prefer the Bordeaux but it would have been fabulous in black. I initially thought this was a seasonal line but apparently the LVook book says its permanent so maybe they will release it in other colours. The detailing is very LV especially the locks. The vache zippered compartment in the back as well the the tabs in the closure was a little bit incongruent with the rest of the design but I guess that it's LV's signature leather so it works. The next reveal was the Artsy in its new colour Aubergine. By happenstance, I was carrying my old Onatah also in Aubergine but Artsy's colour was flatter and matte as opposed to the pop that my Onatah has. What impressed me the most is the new Empreinte Citadine GM. I am totally in LVoe with this bag!!!! It comes in Etoupe, Orange and this Midnight Bleu colour that was really, really, really nice. The straps were comfy and the compartment was deep. Also, it came with a small pochette that is detachable. Sigh....*Francis*, I told myself...only one bag a season, walk away since it's part of the permanent line, stop touching the bag, stop playing with it, stop sniffing it...sigh. I am in LVoe!

Keepall in 'Suburgatory'

I was watching 'Suburgatory', ABC's new series and saw a Monogram Keepall and some other luggage pieces being used in the show. Featured in "Don't Call Me Shirley" episode, I kinda dont like it when the industry uses LV to portray rich b*tches.

Louis Vuitton Walnut Dress?!

Photographer Fulvio Bonavia’s envisions and shoots ‘Food Dresses’ for Garage Magazine's debut issue. Fulvio who has a book called A Matter of Taste, has been known for his food and fashion combination photographs. He worked with stylist Giovanna Battaglia on this project. “It was a really good collaboration, as we were very much on the same page with all the concepts,” “[Giovanna] proposed we do a different look for each different fashion brand, with an interesting structure and textures, and I worked on how to realize these concepts and decide which food would be the right choice.”
