Damier Insolite

Much awaited by many with the success of the Monogram Insolite, the Damier version comes in ebene and azur. Very functional and holds a ton, this wallet from the permanent collection is a hip and trendy alternative to what is currently being offered. Carlos Alberto Vela

I just LVoe men who carry their LVs with pride. Here's Carlos Alberto Vela, Mexican footballer who is a striker and plays for Arsenal of the English Premier League and Mexico's national football team. The way he holds his Damier Trousse would be frowned upon here in the US since it would be considered a "murse" but the winds of change are gathering speed...

First LVook: Damier Azur Totally

Slated to be released in the not so distant future (March), this new addition to the Damier Azur Line called Totally will surely be a hit to beach LVoers everywhere. Vuitton Bathrobe

This, more than any Louis Vuitton item, is for me the epitome of luxury. I can't explain why but having a $705 bathrobe just speaks volumes. The robe is made out of 100% cotton and is availabe in white and sand as shown below. LV provided their own size guide for your reference: M0 = XL Women/Medium Men, L0 = XXL Women/Large Men, XL = XL Men. Available at www.louisvuitton.com or save on tax at eLUXURY.com

Happy Snow Day!!!

It's been 14 years since the DC area had such a late snow fall. So to celebrate this wintry day, I decided to get me a little something from the boutique. Grand Froid Cap, January 27, 2009, Mclean, VA

Through the Looking Glass

I almost missed this fabulous pic of Arjay from yesterday! LVoe it!!!

Alligator Mazarine

Louis Vuitton is not well known for their exotic leathers. So it was a delight for me to see this 1998 Alligator Mazarine being sold at a secondary marketplace. Too bad this design has been phased out. It seems quite functional for going out to see a play or even just the movies. Hmmm...well maybe an all-alligator piece is more for the opera or cocktail party but hey, if you can carry it, then who cares! LVoe it!!!

Congratulations Rowena and Abie!!!

I'm off to the wedding!

Sorry for the blurry pic. I'm late! (Stephen Sprouse Tie and Richard Prince Speedy Frame)

Kanye West announces new name

Inspired by last Thursday's Menswear Fall Winter 2009 2010 Fashion show, Kanye West has decided to christen himself "Martin Louis The King, Jr." Hmmm...this name change has gotten a wee bit too far but whatever rocks his boat! Watch the vid here:

From 5th Ave with LVoe

I came home from dinner/movie and received this e-mail from -G- who happened to purchase these items from 5th Avenue. We've seen the Sprouse leggings and they are fabulous! But what I'm more interested in are the Anthracite Espadrilles that I never thought LV would release. Gotta call my SA pronto! Thanks for sharing and LVoe it!!! Photo from Runway for reference

Kanye West Debuts his Sneaker for Vuitton

We've been reading about Mr. West's collaboration with Vuitton but yesterday's Fall Winter Menswear show was the stage in which he presented his beLVoed design. Designing five styles for LV, the quilted back sneaker was the first to be seen on the runway. “I was inspired by the movie Dune. The collection had all these jackets that were very padded. They looked like maybe they had hockey pads in the jacket, and there was one where the collar came up really high. I took that element, and I put that on the back of the shoe. It’s like the opposite of the tongue. Usually you have the tongue at the front. [This is] like a tongue at the back,”, West says. Source: People

The Man Behind Vuitton Menswear: Paul Helbers

I didn't even noticed him from the Spring Summer 2008-2009 Men's show but this time I did. Paul Helbers, Louis Vuitton's studio director for the men's line drew his inspiration for Fall Winter 2009 collection from the idea of a traveling African King. The collection is very conservative without Marc's usual flair for the whimsical but I was very impressed with the elements a a whole. Helbers said: "I was going for clothing that, though luxurious, could be worn every day without calling attention to itself." LVoe it PH!
