Vuitton Pigs

This is very sad on so many levels... Lifted from adpulp.com : Pigs tattooed with the logo of French luxury brand Louis Vuitton rest in a farm in the rural area of China's capital Beijing July 14, 2005. The pigs are owned by Belgian artist Wim Delvoye, who has a staff of local farmers and tattoo artists raising sows to use them as canvases for skin art. According to Time, Delvoye's controversial art seems perfectly aligned with Europe's current indigestion over what it ingests. He was born in rural Flanders where there are more pigs than people, and he says he has always felt a pull to the "agrarian tradition" in Flemish art.

My Friends and their LVoe Series

Here's a foto of my dear friend Chris, from Cherry Hill, New Jersey on one of his jet-setting tours of Asia. I think the extravaganza took him to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and of course our beloved Pearl of the Orient--the Philippines. On his stop at the shopping capital of the Far East, he decided to pick up an Olav PM, also featured here. I am trying to convince him now that the Olav is lonely and needs a companion wallet. Don't you just LVoe the promotional facade for the Damier Azur???!!!

Featuring: The Vaslav

Eluxury description: The iconic shape of the Fall/Winter 2005 Men's Show, Louis Vuitton's Vaslav travel bag is now available in Damier canvas. Polished brass side buckles unlatch to increase the bag's capacity, while the cotton canvas interior is equipped with two flat pockets. Finished with fine leather trim and rolled leather handles. Louis Vuitton description: This travel bag in Damier canvas is an homage to Vaslav Nijinski, the famous Russian principal ballet dancer. The sides can be folded down to adjust the volume. Francis description: I will tell you later about the amazing story of this duffel bag. I promise you, it will make you pirouette in all directions... LOUIS VUITTON OPENING - PARIS FW

If you look closely, I'm right behind Uma at 0:59 seconds time remaining.

David Beckham

Since, my last post was about an LV football and in line with my friend Arjay's current posting in his blog: The Journey, I want to share with you this photo of David Beckham, England's star football player as he fumbles with his Pégase. Photo credits: Polfoto

Pour Jeff - Coupe de Monde Vuitton Football

Browsing the Purse Forum, I found this pic of a monogram canvas football or soccer ball as it is known here in the US. It was made for the Fifa World Cup 1998 held in France. I thought I would post it in my blog since Jeff is a huge soccer fan and player. So here's hoping that this foto would change his aversion for the beloved monogram. See you on the pitch!!! I LV oe it!!! Photo credits: sophia618

Why I LVOE this bag...

The British called it, a "Frankenstein monster". An American called it, "Hideous". I LV oe it!!!! If I had $45,000 to splurge I definitely would've been on top of the waitlist. Of course, this would be after my huge donation to the Global TB Alliance. Not only is it unique, but it is an elitist bag that would drive Arjay nuts if I had it. The Tribute Patchwork bag apparently comes from 15 pieces from the Spring/Summer Cruise line of the Fall 2006 Collection and is hand-sewn meticulously to produce a shopper-type tote. But deep inside, the real reason why I LVoe this bag is the unfulfilled yearning I had during my childhood days when I was forced to attend drafting class instead of home economics. It stands for all the classes that I have missed where I could have sewn, sewn, sewn to my heart's content . So, it is not only a tribute to the House of Vuitton but a tribute to my lost childhood!

iPhone Vuitton Carriers

In the wake of the release of the iPhone this past month, can the House of Vuitton be lagging behind?! According to tpfers the answer is "NO"!!! The new iPhone Vuitton carriers will be out by July 16 and will only be exclusive to the Manhattan 5th Avenue store until a nationwide release this coming October. Starting at $225 for the monograms up to $1000 plus for the more exotic materials. Well, the iPhone is $600, plus my fancy Vuitton Alligator would be $1,120, add whatever bag I have chosen for the day. I'd basically be carrying three thousand dollars worth of stuff when I go to the Giant to pick up some milk and eggs!!! L V oe it!!! Photo credit: www.louisvuitton.com

Neverfull NO PRICE INCREASE!!!

Thankfully, the amazing Neverfull remains unscathed from the recent price increase and has retained its introductory price. Even though I exchanged this bag, I am a big fan of it and hopefully will own it again someday...Visit eluxury.com. Photo credit: www.eluxury.com

Well, guys and gals, the prices of some core collection pieces are going up today. Hopefully, you were like working bees this week trying to figure out what bag, purse or wallet was at the top of your list. Hope you got all your LVoe wishes!!!

Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz

I am so in LVoe with antique Vuitton trunks!!! They probably stink and are falling apart, but there is something about them that just beckons to be noticed. I decided to feature every Tuesday an antique trunk that is out there waiting to be purchased and LVoed by one us who are old souls and true LVoers of the brand. I'm calling it the Tuesday Trunk Tidbitz. Here's a wonderful dresser trunk to start my series with. I won't go into details about the bells and whistles of these LVoely pieces. I just want to point out what I think is the highlight of each. Take for example the hand painted detailing of the monogram pattern of this trunk. Truly remarkable!!! I think the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy and have a good nite. Click here to watch the auction. Ended at $13,000.00

You are in good company...LVoe it!!!

Cleaning your Vuitton Padlocks

I purchased my Excursion roughly about three weeks ago and I noticed that the padlock had begun oxidizing even when I was in the store. I thought nothing of it but today I decided that it was too dirty looking and I didn't want it to stain the vachetta. I know that Brasso is a leading recommendation but I use this with the acrylics on Rolex watches and they remove the scratches superbly. For this project, I decided to use this amazing product called Mr. Metal manufactured by Goddard's. I use it with my silver and decided to try it on the LV padlock. It worked beautifully and I wish I had taken before and after pics. Just use a pea size amount on a soft cloth and watch before your eyes how it restores it to the original factory finish. Tip: make sure the liquid does not get into the crevices of the lock and that you allow it to dry before attaching it to your LV. Hope you guys find this useful.

The folly in online shopping...

Tpfers found an auction on e-bay with this desciption: Up for auction is a HUGE Louis Vuitton Neverfull gm dustbag . I just got this 4 days ago . This bag is huge . I can actually fit a pillow in it. Of all the bags I've owned ,I never got a dustbag this big. So its yours .Of course this is Authentic. See my feedback. I only sell authentic. This is brand new. At first I didn't notice it. But on the second reading, I realized that the listing was only for the DUSTBAG!!! Sadly, the auction ended for $255.00. The seller was very clear though that the auction was only for the dustbag. He/she even clarified it in one of the posted answers to queries. The photos are very deceiving. If you are going to shop online, please, please make sure that you read everything. Here's a link to the auction: e-bay

Waterproof Keepall

Wow, here's an impressive pic of the Waterproof Keepall floating in a tub of water. I had the opportunity to actually touch and feel this in real life the other day and I LVoe it! There is something wildly alluring about the black trims and black inventeur plate. I was told that the piece has no stictching and was sealed using an adhesive. If you have the moolah to splurge then why not buy it?! I was tempted but alas, perhaps another time. Special thanks to Cecile Van Straten for her photo. Check out her flickr. It's filled with photos of the LV Fall/Winter 07-08 Fashion Show from Ho Chi Minh City. Photo credit: Cecilia Van Straten

Louis Vuitton Ad

LVoe this ad from Louis Vuitton. Do you think Jeff would be convinced that LV and men can and do co-exist?

HRH---the late Princess Diana

I would like to share with you this pic of the late Princess Diana. She had in her arm what seem to be a toilette poche. Unfortunately, there is no vachette at the end so I'm not sure if it is. Someone from the purse forum said that it is a discontinued piece. When I saw this, I instantly had a vision of you, Arjay. I imagined you walking the beaches of Key West clutching your toiletry bag with the wind in your hair and sand on your feet. She might have more grace and poise than you, but do remember that she was only a princess and you are a queen.
