My Weekend in New York City ~ Monday
The morning started early for me because I needed to leave the city by 4pm. After a light breakfast of coffee and a biscuit, I headed off to do some window shopping at Madison Ave. The city was hot, humid and gross. I was happy to be in shorts and a light cotton shirt and could not fathom how New Yorkers were taking the heat in their office attire. The hour passed by uneventfully with shop after shop that I went into.
My last stop of course was Louis Vuitton on 5th and was delighted to see that they were doing a new installation for their windows. I happily stood there as two guys were stenciling the labels of the latest residents of their moving track.
This time, I took my time in the store, seeing the most out of every collection. I saw the newly released Revelation Keepall which had absolutely magnificent leather. I saw a few men's coats that were to die for and Damier boxer shorts that was a bit pricey. Shoes were nice especially the Sprouse Leopard sneakers for men and the Heel with Pearl for women. It then dawned on me to ask for the Bunny Ears from the runway. Unfortunately, they only had the for-retail-version of it which were minute black ears on a plain headband. I wanted the mile high headpiece that was worn by Madonna! Sigh...the headband by the way was $405. I said my goodbyes to P and as I walked out, I remembered him telling me that the Sak's just opened a Women's Ready-to-Wear Department on its third floor. I braved the humidity for a few blocks of walking and this is what greeted me on the floor of Sak's entrance.
You mentioned that Sak's just opened a Women's Ready-to-Wear Department.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely hate these in store shops in the large department stores.
It takes all the exclusivity away.
Why does a city that has a huge Louis Vuitton Store need all those' LV Corners' ??
Louis Vuitton is getting so large that nobody wants it anymore.
In that respect, Hermes does a better (more exclusive) job.
What is the idea to have Louis Vuitton available at every corner?
I find it a great pity.
