Louis Vuitton Christmas Windows at the Galeries Lafayette

In celebration of the famous dome of the Galeries Lafayette, Louis Vuitton has entered in an unprecedented partnership with the leading department store.  The dome is a landmark of boulevard Haussmann and is celebrating its centenary this year.  Richly ornamented with stained glass and sculpted Byzantine motifs, it is truly a sight to behold.

Creating a series of Christmas windows on the theme of "The Ball of the Century", a parade of female marionettes in heels and a menagerie of exotic animals including penguins, bears, pandas and pink flamingos move in an elaborately choreographed dance.  Drawn from the four corners of the world, Louis Vuitton's heritage of travel can clearly be seen in the array of products on display with the enchanting figures.

I invite citizens of Paris or tourists who happen to be in the City of Lights this holiday season to send in their photos of these fantastic windows.  For now, let us be content with behind the scenes photos of the making of the marionettes used in the display (above) as well photos of the lighting ceremony wherein the central figure was an elephant named Dumba dressed in Monogram who assisted in lighting up the store this past November 6. LVoe, LVoe, LVoe it!!!
