The Seated Nymph

I visited the National Gallery of Art today to view the exhibit Bronze and Boxwood and found this piece of sculpture a delight to behold! I LVoe statuary and this particular one made the trip all worthwhile. Pier Jacopo Alari-Bonacolsi, called Antico Mantuan, c. 1460–1528 Seated Nymph, 1503 bronze with mercury gilding on the drapery and hair and silver foil in the eyes. Visit www.nga.gov.
