It's the Two-Year Anniversary of my Blog!!!
I started Louis Vuitton Lover only 3 days after I purchased my Reporter PM, my first LV ever. Click here to see that post. Since then, I have tried to blog anything and everything about Louis Vuitton and have met tons of wonderful people along the way from all over the world. Recently, I added "Insatiable Quest" to my blog description to encapsulate its essence. I want to express my immense gratitude to all of you who make reading this blog a habit and allowing me to be a part of your daily LiVes. (*SNIFF**SNIFF*). But seriously, a big 'THANKS' to all my LVoe Readers. Maraming, maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat. I remain, Louis Vuitton LoVer. LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram
A lot of people have e-mailed me inquiring about the 17 color combos of Louis Vuitton's Mon Monogram service. Thankfully, NicoleLV has provided us with a snap shot of the color chart that some stores use. Click pic to enlarge.
I know, it's kinda archaic but they also have a swatch sampler that you can flip through. Here's Juana Manahan at Louis Vuitton, Manila perusing the said sampler. Photo from stylebible.ph. Lastly, software developed for Louis Vuitton is used to capture a visual simulation of what your future Mon Monogram would LVook like. This is the final step wherein a print out of your order would come from. I would suggest that you decide on a color scheme before heading down to one of a hundred Flagship Stores worldwide that offer this service. With all the combinations of colors, placement, fonts, two initials or three, it can get a tad bit overwhelming. My head ached by the time I walked out of the 5th Avenue store. Also, I was irritated that a few months after, the counterfeiters decided that my Mon Monogram was a limited edition piece and decided to make copies. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Click here to see post.
But the experience was well worth it. Here's mine today as I run off to the gym. Go Terps!!! LVoe it!!!

Louis Vuitton "Muse" Exhibit 5 Canton Road
Entitled "Muse", the current Louis Vuitton exhibit in 5 Canton Road, Tsim Tsa Tsui is a collection of pieces inspired by the House along with specially commisioned artworks. The exhibit highlights the collaborative efforts of the likes of Manolo Blahnik and Vivienne Westwood together with local Hong Kong artists, Tsang Kin Wah and Doris Wong Wai Yin. It opened on May 8 and will run through August 22.
From what I can see, I really would have LVoed to be there, HK!

Close Call for my Damier Géant
Have you ever had one of those days that you know it's going to rain but you ignored the looming clouds, the cool feel in the air or the sunless sky? I had one of those days today and as soon as I stepped out of the Metro elevator, I knew that droplets were imminent. I looked down anxiously at my Damier Géant Compagnon, the natural cowhide leather still virginal as the day I bought it. Hurriedly I shuffled and nervously I took each step. The soft rumble in the distance of thunder did not help my anxiety. As soon as I stepped into the threshhold of my home and closed the door behind me, rain started to fall. I said outloud: "Thank you, Jesus!"
Louis Vuitton /underground/ Store Opens tomorrow
The very first Louis Vuitton store that is situated below ground level(hence the name), opens tomorrow May 30. Located within the flagship of Seibu Department Stores in Ikebukuro, Toshima, Tokyo, this limited "installation" is a concept store outfitted with packing crates to display LV merchandise. American rapper Cool Keith performed in last night's opening party. Sigh...I wish we have these kinda events in the US. Photos from: Fashionsnap & Verbal (who was the host for the evening)

First LVook: Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture
Wow, I've learned something already from The Bag Lounge . A new Louis Vuitton book is slated to be released this coming September 2009. Entitled Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture it can be pre-ordered from Amazon.com. I just ordered my copy. LVoe it!!!
Here's the product description: "Luxury and art have never been more closely linked than they are in these early years of the twenty-first century. Virtually all the world’s major luxury houses have associated themselves with contemporary art through sponsorships, commissions, or foundations, and these points of exchange nourish the increasingly symbiotic relationship between fashion, art, and other design disciplines. Of all modern luxury brands, Louis Vuitton can claim to maintain the richest and most varied associations with the world of art. Included in this volume are Louis Vuitton’s important collaborations with an elite group of artists, architects, designers, and photographers, such as Jun Aoki, Shigeru Ban, Vanessa Beecroft, Olafur Eliasson, Zaha Hadid, David LaChapelle, Jean Larivière, Annie Leibovitz, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Stephen Sprouse, James Turrell, Inez Van Lamsweerde, and Vinoodh Matadin. The book is structured as a seductive anthology of the house’s most visible collaborations. Critical essays examine and position Louis Vuitton’s patronage—under the guidance of Artistic Director Marc Jacobs—during one of the most fertile periods of contemporary art and design."

Louis Vuitton Rock Flower Charm
In my quest to look for a cell phone charm replacement last week (which I don't need now since I found my old one), I began to see bag charms in a different light. I wondered too why I don't have one in my collection. My last feature was the Insolence Charm in early May which I am still mulling over. But my manager showed me an interesting one that is called the Rock Flower Charm . Made of perforated resin and antiqued brass, it reinterprets the monogram flower into an industrial piece that is both charming and fashionable. It costs as much as a small LV wallet ($405) but it is a huge piece that would surely attract attention and admiration. Visit www.louisvuitton.com.
