Philippine Showbiz Politicking
I have really not been following the scandal surrounding Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby, two Filipino matinee idols allegedly having a LVoe relationship. Jeff practically swoons over the
both of them. I should keep tabs on it, after all, the defendant in this case is none other than Angel's mom, Miss Lolit Solis. I only catch snippets from my not-so-updated friend. So when she showed me this recent photo of her mom together with Sam and Piolo's lawyer who by chance is sporting a Damier Speedy, I knew that I had to follow this case more closely. For all of you who are not familiar with P&S, I've also attached a pic of them. Not sure if it's a photoshop since they are locked in a man handheld. Man Bag Epic Continues...
It seems that Vuitton is really targeting its male clientele. A few weeks ago I posted the Utah Kiowa tote from their holiday catalog and instantly fell in LVoe when I saw it in real life. Clearly it is trying to define how Americans perceive the man bag. It looks like a shopper tote but the sportish, old Western straps give it that masculine look. I adore Utah leather because of the way it feels and the hardware is finished to perfection. Discreet that does not scream LV but it does say that one has style. $1940 www.louisvuitton.com

Exactly my sentiments
I saw the Damier Lune Cabas today in real life and what do you know, my co-blogger bagaholicboy from Singapore had the same reaction as I did. Click here for his post. I felt that the nouveau design was fantastic but the fabric material just didn't do it for me. The suede handles will probably worry me to death and the lining just fell flat. I did LVoe the burnished finish of the Vuitton plate inside though, but even so, it just didn't grab me. To top it all off, my SA was not interested in showcasing the piece but was more into my non-LV bag that I had with me today. She ran her hands onto my quilted, luxurious lining and said: "Lemme just feel another bag other than LV." Hahahaha, I left with a skip in my gait. $1420 www.louisvuitton.com
The Vibrant Palette of Richard Prince
I could see that this collection will not be so popular among the masses but you got to hand it to Marc for once again collaborating with an artiste. It gives the brand that edginess that is lacking in the core collection and presents LV in a different light. I'm not sure yet if I will partake of this line since other preoccupations are underfoot. Coming in Spring-Summer 2008. Photos taken from seahorseinstripes (tPF).

Musings on the Murse
Last Hannukah dinner at Jeff's ancestral home, his 7 year old niece suddenly picks up my Macau clutch and asks me if it were mine. I answered in the affirmitive and then began a series of sing-song teasings: "Francis has a purse!" End of story. Last night, Jeff was watching the third season of The Wire wherein one of the agents in a covert operation was required to carry a similar looking clutch to make him look more European. The detective's response: "What the F##K is that?". Why are Americans so averse with a carrying bag? Granted that I am an extreme in my choice of LVs since I don't care about conforming to what society dictates. Isn't it time that all of you wisen up and realize that carrying a bag or clutch does not dictate what your proclivities are? Photo: David Beckham

Spring/Summer Tote
Up for your perusal is this Neverfullesque spring/summer bag designed in collaboration with the artist Richard Price. I LVoe the bold print of the monogram against the smaller and subtler lining that is peeping out. Also, the convenience of adjustable straps is a big plus. I wonder what the price point would be for this wonderful seasonal...Photo credit: princesscathryn

The Fashion Editor of The Times in London, Lisa Armstrong, voiced out her fantasy to an LV PR about her eternal quest for the perfect piece of weekend luggage. This is to DIE for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kurgan Clutch
One thing I enjoyed seeing last nite at the event, was this tiny, little number from the Taiga line. They had it displayed with the strap neatly tucked inside so I thought that it was a handheld bag. It has an interesting snap that I fiddled a good 10 minutes with before I discovered how it opened. The Taiga leather lends it a bit stiff for my taste but it's surely different from the rest of my collection. Visit www.louisvuitton.com. $970

Damier Lune
Well, I attended my first LV event at the Chevy Chase store and was instantly drawn to the new addition in the men's collection. It is called the Damier Lune , a new interpretation of the iconic checker board pattern. Unfortunately, they only had one of the two that came into the store for tonight's event. Apparently, the handheld Cabas was pre-ordered. Oh well, there are still nine left in the country so I will have to do a lot of debating in the days ahead. Trotteur (satchel) $1270; Cabas (handheld)$1420; Sac de Sport (carryall-type) $2020. Photo credit: princesscathryn
Latitude 48.194 / Longitude 02.286
Christmas window designed by Christopher Lawson (21, from Ireland) and Marcos Villalba (26, from Spain), students from Central Saint Martins. Louis Vuitton held a competition in March commissioning 80 graduates from the BA course and the result is this wonderful three-dimensional topographical map of the area surrounding Asnieres, the cradle of the brand's tradition. According to Yves Carcelle, Chairman and CEO of LV, he found it "interesting that in the whole history of Louis Vuitton, no worker has ever thought of travel in terms of latitude and longitude until now". . Great job guys! Watch out for it in your local boutique. LVoe it!!!

Jorge and his iPhone
The first of upcoming Filipino Holiday extravaganzas happened last night in a small suburb of DC. I saw dear ol' friends that I have not seen in awhile and was pleasantly surprised that one of them had a new iPhone. Now my surprise came not from the fact that he purchased this latest craze from Apple because Jorge is very much up to date with his gadgets, but it was prompted by what encased it! It was LVoeingly held in the all too familiar monogram canvas. I featured this latest accesory a few months back but have never really seen it in real life. The phone practically slid into the case because it was lined with what I believe is microfibre. Jorge has always been a Burberry, Prada kinda guy, so I was delighted to see a little LV creep into his collection. $225 in www.louisvuitton.com
Shopping Weekend -- 300th post
I was tasked to chaffeur Angel around this weekend as she revises her wardrobe for the winter months. It was two days of nitpicking shopping (she stayed overnite) as we braved the sale racks in three different malls. I think I have perfected the mathematics of computing discounts in my head. Thankfully, I refrained from buying anything so here's a couple of pics in the rare and few moments that I am actually resting.

Vuitton for Bang and Olufsen
Vuitton has collaborated with Bang and Olufsen to dress up quite a few of the company's products. Utilizing LV's buttery Nomade leather as second-skin, these already ultra-chic gadgets are further taken into the realms of luxury! Featured above are the cases for the Serene Mobile and the Beosound; and below is the Seranata's . I am so technologically challenged that I will direct you to the website where you can find more info about them. (Bang-Olufsen.com)
